Christ/Messiah=Anointed One

Anointing consisted of pouring oil over the head of a person being inaugurated into an office, symbolizing the enabling of the Holy Spirit given for the task.

Three kinds of leaders in the Old Testament were anointed, prophets, priest, and kings:

"There let Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet anoint him king over Israel; and blow the horn, and say, 'Long live King Solomon'" - 1st Kings 1:34
