Titus 2:11-14
by Derek Gentle
Transforming Grace is the inward work of God
to strengthen the believer in spiritual weakness,
train him in Christian holiness, and impart within him
the winsomeness of true godliness.
The Work of Grace
(1) Grace Strengthens Us
". . . Be strong in the grace that
is in Christ Jesus" 2nd Timothy 2:1
(2) Grace Trains Us
"For the grace of God that brings
salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say 'No'
to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live
self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present
age" - Titus 2:11-12 (NIV)
(3) Grace Imparts a New
Attractiveness
". . . who long for you because of
the grace of God in you" - 2nd Corinthians
9:14
Our Responsibilities Regarding
Grace
(1) To Continue in Grace
". . . Paul and Barnabas, who
speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of
God" - Acts 13:43
(2) To Grow in Grace
"But grow in the grace of and
knowledge of the our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. . . "
- 2nd Peter 3:18
The Means of Grace
(1) The Word of God
"And now, brethren, I commend you
to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build
you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are
sanctified" - Acts 20:32
(2) The Humility of the
Christian
"But He gives more grace.
Therefore He says: 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to
the humble'" - James 4:6
