True worship acknowledges the rule and wisdom and justice of God
Two key biblical terms for acknowledging the wisdom and justice of God: Confess and Amen
1. CONFESS
To Acknowledge the Wisdom of God -
"I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and
earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and
prudent and revealed them to babes. Even so Father, for it
seemed good in Your sight" Luke 10:21
Literally: to confess out "I gladly acknowledge"
- Vines Dictionary of Biblical Words
I "acknowledge to Thy praise" - NAS (margin)
"I give praise to you, openly and from the heart" -
Wuest
To Acknowledge the Lordship of Christ -
"And that every tongue should confess that Jesus is
Lord, to the glory of God the Father" - Philippians 2:11
To Acknowledge the Rule of God -
"Say among the nations, 'The Lord reigns. . . '"
Psalm 96:10
To Acknowledge the Virtues of God -
"My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord"

"That the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy,
as it is written: 'For this reason I will confess to you
among the Gentiles and sing to Your name'" Romans 15:9
("I will praise you among the Gentiles" NIV)
2. AMEN
To Confirm the Accuracy of Our Praise - an
enthusiastic, "That's right!"
"Verily, verily" is literally "Amen,
amen" and the phrase refers, "in general, to the
ideas of truth and faithfulness. . . to
affirm or confirm a solemn truth" (Hendriksen)
". . . Christ came, who is over all, the eternally
blessed God. Amen" - Romans 9:5
"For of Him and through Him and to Him are all
things, to whom be glory forever. Amen" - Romans 11:36
To Affirm Our Desire in Praise - an
enthusiastic, "Make it so!"
". . . 'Surely I am coming quickly.' Amen. Even
so, come Lord Jesus!" - Revelation 22:20
"Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who only
does wondrous things! And be blessed be His glorious name
forever! And let the whole earth be filled with His glory.
Amen and Amen!" - Psalm 72:18-19
To Enter Into Another's Praise - an
enthusiastic, "Me too!"
"And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. Then all
the people answered, 'Amen, Amen!' While lifting up their
hands. And they bowed their heads and worshiped the Lord with
their faces to the ground" - Nehemiah 8:6 (New Testament
examples: 1st Cor. 14:13-16; Rev. 5:11-14)
